Through our work in the community Childline has found there is a gap in knowledge on topics such as children’s developmental needs, communication skills with children, conflict management, children and sexuality, alternatives to corporal punishment, grieving process of children amongst parents/ caregivers, teachers and community volunteers.
Childline Mpumalanga currently receives regular requests from community initiatives, schools and parent groups from across Mpumalanga for training on these issues.
We believe that effective children’s services have to be designed and executed with sensitivity to the specific needs of a child. By training teachers and parents and community stakeholders to be sensitive to children’s issues the services delivered will improve outcomes and reducing inappropriate behaviour by caregivers.
Training partners in services to children are a vital part of our program helping us to foster a holistic understanding of children’s rights and responsibilities in communities throughout the province |
